Illinois Direct Slaughter Sows and Boars

Today's estimated receipts:   275     Thursday's Actual:  875 
                  Week ago:   825       
                  Year ago:   700 

Sows traded steady.  Demand was light for moderate offerings.
            
US 1-3 under 400 lbs   48.00-50.00  
         400-450 lbs   50.00-54.00  
         450-500 lbs   53.00-58.00
         500-550 lbs   55.00-59.00
        over 550 lbs   57.00-60.00           

Boars: under 300 lbs   35.00-39.00             
        over 300 lbs   10.00-20.00

For the week sows traded 3.00 to 5.00 lower, instances 7.00 lower.
Demand was light to moderate.  Offerings were moderate.  Lack of buying 
interest heading into the holiday weekend helped to pressure prices.  The 
slaughter receipts for the week totaled 4,750 this week compared to 5,348 
last week and 4,914 last year.
